As an artist, Julie Forbes seeks to engage viewers with high-tech, torn-down art — redemption for lost artifacts. “Those of a more secular bent, consider it trash transmogrified,” she explains. “Discarded, then whipped to a froth by an edgy hand. Use it, don’t lose it. The art of reclamation, an ethos born of the crushing need to re-purpose and re-create.”

A Portland-based artist, Julie Forbes has had her work shown at some 45+ group shows in and around Portland. including at the Multnomah Arts Center, the Beaverton Arts Mix (five years in a row), and in three juried shows at the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts.
